Teen Mom, renamed Teen Mom OG since the fifth season, is an American series that premiered on December 8, 2009 on. Developed as the first of , it aired four seasons before its initial conclusion on October 9, 2012. The series follows the lives of , , , and , who were featured on the first season of 16 and Pregnant; it documents their first years of motherhood and places additional emphasis on strained family and romantic relationships. The pilot episode was the network's highest-rated premiere in over a year, with 2. The first-season finale brought in 3. The second-season finale pulled in over 5. In December 2015, it was announced via the Teen Mom OG Facebook page that the show was back for a sixth season, and featured a trailer for the upcoming season, with it being set to premiere on January 4, 2016. In March 2018, Abraham went ahead with her adult webcam show, and producers decided to cut ties with her. Abraham was not featured for the rest of the season and is off of the series. Originally, the wedding was scheduled for October 10, 2016; however, the wedding plans were suspended when it was revealed that, unbeknownst to Portwood, Baier had several children by different women and had fallen behind on child support payments and that he had reached out to fellow Teen Mom castmates Farrah Abraham and Jenelle Evans before finally pursuing Portwood.
